September 15-17th, 2023IFEX Japan has become IFEX KunmingThe International Flowers & Plants Expo will take place in Kunming from September 15-17, 2023. The show is organized by RX (Reed Exhibitions) and was formerly called IFEX Japan. It is a large industry trade show for business promotion in Asia. Over 30,000 people are expected to attend, including distributors, wholesalers and traders, florist retailers, growers and floral ecommerce players.This year's IFEX will be held in Kunming at the Kunming Dianchi Lake International Convention and Exhibition Centre, which is known as China's largest cut flower distribution and production center. The industry will display its products and service on an area of approximately 50,000 square metres.The show is expected to attract 90% of Yunnan’s large-scale farmers. A range of activities, including a forum on the protection of Dutch new varieties, will also be held.The protection of new plant species is becoming increasingly important to governments all over the world. China's Flower Industry is faced with problems like the small number of flower varieties that are developed and retained. There are also gaps in the breeding technology system. The forum will bring together leaders and experts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, who will explain the newly revised Regulations of the People's Republic of China on the protection of new plant varieties. Experts from the Netherlands and other countries, including Ecuador, Colombia and Kenya, will be invited to present their new plant varieties protection policies, rights and intellectual property, as well as protection cases.
